If you want an httpd server to run, you may wish to look elsewhere. Rick Moen has a seemingly comprehensive list. If you want understandable source code to a simple HTTP/0.9 server, enjoy. I've heard that the OWFS project used it as initial code for owhttpd. Hope you find it useful
Prior Notes:
I found dhttpd and it was beautiful. Until the day I asked for http://nwonknu.org/micro-howto
without a / at the end, and it wouldn't give it to me.
I looked at the source and implemented a horrible kludge. Then I ripped out all of the c++
now renamed chttpd(since I can't find the guy who wrote dhttpd) it does
